Some may say having an additional team member is an unfair advantage over the competition; however, Canada’s Olympic curling team doesn’t really have much of an advantage – because the additional team “player” is inside the tummy of Olympian Kristie Moore. In addition, Kristie Moore is an alternative on the Canadian curling team which means if things go well for the Canadians she may never actually get to compete on the ice.
However, even if she did, her team leader, Cheryl Bernard, has every confidence that Kristie would do well.
Curling is not a “high risk” sport in the Olympics if you compare it to others, so the fact that Kristie Moore is playing does not necessarily mean that she is putting her baby at risk. In fact, she is not the first woman to compete in the Olympic games while pregnant either; other women were Swedish figure skater Magda Julin and German Diana Sartor who took part in skeleton.
Some may think that Kristie Moore is putting her unborn child at risk by competing in the Olympic games while pregnant; however, if you consider some of the highly stressful jobs which some women carry out until the final days of pregnancy, is she exposing her baby to any greater risk?

Spam is always a problem – the best thing to do is not allow comments until you approve them. That way they are not published and you can just hit the bulk delete’ button once you have time to read them or allow the genuine comments to be posted
