Danica Patrick’s NASCAR Debut Ends in a Car Wreck

The ‘hot young newbie’ (as she has been described) on the NASCAR racing car circuit, Danica Patrick, ended her NASCAR Daytona debut in a car wreck today; an associated press report states that Danica Patrick was involved in a 12 car pile up on the Daytona International Speedway circuit.

Danica Patrick’s recent ‘success’ in her stock car racing debut at ARCA, on February 6th 2010, led to her decision to debut in this weekend’s NASCAR Daytona debut.  It is reported that Danica Patrick was unable to avoid a wreck of several cars in front of her on the Daytona circuit, where she was currently placed in position 21 in the race, and slammed into the wall before spinning out on the grass.  Although Danica re-gained control of her car, her car suffered significant damage, which put her out of the running – and into the pits.

Danica Patrick said:

“…today, I would say, was more of a tough day.”

Danica Patrick’s next nationwide races are scheduled in California and Las Vegas.

Better luck next time Danica! :)
