Starting a business isn’t easy - even more so for women, who often have to juggle home life and business life simultaneously.  However, statistics state that women are actually more successful in small business ownership than men and are more financially responsible than men.  On the other hand, seventy five percent of women are said to earn less money than men.

The web site, Grants for Women, state that less that fifteen per cent of women in the U.S. will apply for a grant and many business grants go unclaimed.  Many women simply do not know their options.

Business grants are available, both federally and privately in the U.S., for:

  • women on a low income
  • underprivileged women
  • ethnic minorities
  • single mothers
  • abused women
  • traditionally male dominated fields such as business, law, science and medicine.

It pays to do some research, through the internet and local libraries, to find a suitable business grant for a small business start up.  You may be surprised at what you discover….   :)
