Tennis star Venus Williams, 29, has always been known for her somewhat “different” tennis outfits – but her recent “little black number” seems to be stirring up quite a bit of interest. Venus Williams wore a black lace corset with tight skin colored knickers (panties) which showed off, in Venus’ words, her “well developed” behind in her opening first round on Sunday May 23 2010 against Patty Schnyder of Switzerland. Although others appeared to be distracted by her risque outfit, Venus apparently was not, as she won the match in straight sets.
Venus Williams had this to say about her outfit, particularly the focus on her apparently near-naked rear end:
“It’s really about the illusion. Like you can wear lace, but what’s the point of wearing lace when there’s just black under.”
and:
“The design has nothing to do with the rear. It just so happens that I have a well developed one.”
She added:
” I try to represent what I think my personality is on the court.”
Venus Williams may like to show off her latest fashion design and her “personality” but after she has completed the French Open Tennis Tournament she is off to play tennis in Wimbledon in London (U.K.) where a strict all-white dress code is enforced. However, no doubt Venus will be raising a few English eyebrows with her take on the all-white dress code – if she can get away with it….
