Many visitors to San Diego don’t know about a small beach town called Ocean Beach, a stone’s throw from the popular visitor attraction of  Sea World.  Yet this dog-friendly beach town with a hippy vibe welcomes more than 70,000 visitors in just one day on the last Saturday in June.

The Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off has become an annual event of music, entertainment, food and artists which takes over the center of Ocean Beach for one day.  Visitors can enjoy this free event from 10 am to 8 pm.  However, parking is limited in Ocean Beach at the best of times, so unless you are lucky enough to be staying in one of the few hotels in town (or are a OB resident), you’ll have to leave your car on Sea World Drive or at Robb Field and take one of the free shuttles into town, if you want to avoid hours of fruitless searching for a parking spot in town.

When: Saturday June 26, 2010 10 am to 8 pm

Where: Newport Avenue, Ocean Beach, San Diego, California

See you there!
