Vanessa Carlton Reveals her Bisexuality, AP photo
Singer Vanessa Carlton “came out” over the weekend as she revealed her bisexuality at the Nashville Pride event on Saturday June 19, 2010. She is one of a few young women, who include Christina Aguilera and True Blood star Anna Paquin, who have recently revealed that they are bisexual – although they are committed to the men in their lives too.
Bisexuality is not a new “trend” as history has recorded over the years. Sigmund Freud said that everybody had the ability to be bisexual at some point in their lives. Yet some people believe that bisexuality is a “temporary” state which people go through to discover their “true” sexual orientation. Either way, bisexuality appears to be common amongst many young women in the United States today.
