Love letters of Lucille Ball, the American actress who was a radio, movie and T.V. star, and who died in 1989, are to be sold at auction, despite a judge’s ruling today, July 16th 2010, blocking the sale.  The daughter of Lucille Ball, Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill, successfully won the case to block the sale at auction of her late mother’s personal letters, along with her awards, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert O’Brien imposed a $250,000 bond for the issue of the restraining order – an amount which Lucie Arnaz Luckinball apparently can’t pay.

The love letters and awards of Lucille Ball were put up for sale by Susie Morton, the widow of Lucille Ball’s second husband Gary Morton.  Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill sought the return of the treasured items – but Susie Morton said that she lost all rights to items after the distribution of Lucille Ball’s estate, according to an Associated Press report.

Lucille Ball’s love letters and awards are now scheduled to be sold at auction on Saturday July 17, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California and online and are offered for sale by Heritage Auction Galleries.

Lucille Ball was a B-movie star and star of the T.V. show I Love Lucy.   She received four Emmy awards, in addition to a couple of other awards.  She was married to her second husband Gary Morton when she died at the age of 77 in 1989.
