Actress Penelope Cruz, 36, and actor Javier Bardem, 41, who starred together in the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), secretly wed in the Bahamas earlier this month, according to an Associated Press report. The Spanish couple join a long list of summer celebrity weddings, including those of Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher and Megan Fox and Brian Green.
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem kept their romance “secret” until just a few months ago in what appears to be a growing trend in the Hollywood circle to avoid media attention. However, without confirmation, rumors still circulated about the couple’s romantic involvement.
Both Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have won Oscars for their roles as supporting actress and supporting actor in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and No Country for Old Men respectively. Penelope Cruz has had previous relationships with actors Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.
