Most people visit the Grand Canyon in summer – but with millions of people doing exactly the same thing it is difficult to find somewhere to yourself.  One option is to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon which is more remote and consequently less visited.  However, why not try visiting in the winter?

Its true that visiting the Grand Canyon in winter is not without risks.  Roads and trails may be closed due to adverse weather conditions and viewpoints may be obscured.  And it can get cold.  Really cold.  But if you get lucky with the weather, and plan ahead and accordingly, you may just have a Grand Canyon experience that not many others (in comparison to the majority of visitors) have experienced….

I have visited the Grand Canyon in the summer, spring and fall – I’ve yet to try the winter experience but the following video gives a glimpse of what winter at the Grand Canyon is like.
