According to Monday’s media reports (November 28, 2011) actress Anne Hathaway has just got engaged to boyfriend Adam Shulman; the 29 year old actress, who had her birthday this month, has been dating American actor Shulman since 2008.  Although no further details of the engagement have yet been given, reports have been confirmed by Hathaway’s spokesperson, according to Reuters.  And the video below shows Hathaway’s beautiful engagement ring!

Anne Hathaway is a rising young star in Hollywood, with a variety of film roles to her credit; she was chosen to play Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Night Rises, scheduled for release in July 2012.  Hathaway’s other film roles include:

The ex-Mrs Marc Anthony, aka Jennifer Lopez, 42, was spotted partying over the weekend at Pure nightclub in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.  Vegas, aka Sin City, attracts many Hollywood stars who go to party and let their hair down.  So, where does the average person go if they are hoping to make a celebrity connection or two when partying in Las Vegas?

According to Vegas.com, The Official Vegas Travel Site, these are a few of the top night spots where you might run into a celeb or two:

• Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace - apparently Pure attracts celebrities nearly every weekend
• LAX at the Luxor
• Tao at the Venetian
• Planet Hollywood – owned by celebs and frequented by celebs, including the filming of many Hollywood movies
• restaurants and shopping malls include Spago at the Forum Shops and Crystals at City Center.

Whether you are hoping to bump into J Lo, Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen or Paris Hilton, frequenting these top end nightclubs and locations will probably reward you with a celeb sighting or two – if you hit the right place at the right time.  However, remember that the celeb lifestyle doesn’t come cheap, so make sure you have plenty of money to cover such an extravagant night out!  After all, this is Vegas…

Madonna is no stranger to controversy, AP photo

As a celebrity, I guess its sometimes easy to forget that all eyes of the world are on you at all times, if you are used to that way of life; case in point, singer and actress Madonna made an off-the-cuff remark about a fan’s gift to her at the start of the Venice Film Festival press conference that was caught on an open mic.  The YouTube video immediately went viral.

In case you didn’t know, Madonna doesn’t like hydrangeas.  A gift from one fan who thought Madonna might appreciate the flower, but didn’t know her aversion to hydrangeas, apparently does now!  Madonna graciously accepted the gift, with a smile and a polite “thank you”,  but her comment that followed (after she thought no one was listening) was embarrassingly caught on an open mic.  She said:

“I absolutely loathe hydrangeas.”

However, she did follow it up with:

“He obviously doesn’t know that.”

So, in future, do your homework before making a gift to a celebrity – otherwise it maybe followed by a “Madonna-like” comment!

Singer and actress Beyonce, 29, revealed to the world on Sunday night (August 28th 2011) at MTV’s Video Music Awards that she was expecting her first baby with hubbie Jay-Z; the news sparked a new twitter record.  In case there was any doubt that we really do tweet and facebook about every little detail of our own lives, and that of others, through social media networks, the news that Beyonce was pregnant got more tweets than ever before.

According to MSN, Twitter got 8,868 Beyonce-related tweets per second, the highest number ever recorded for a single event;  apparently baby gossip about Beyonce was what people wanted to know about on Sunday night.  It was no secret that Beyonce wanted to get pregnant before her 30th birthday; Beyonce told Piers Morgan in June that:

“…I feel like 30 is the ideal age (to start a family), because you are mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite – but you’re young enough to be a young woman.”

According to the Huffington Post, Beyonce is five months pregnant, meaning that her baby should be due sometime around Christmas and the New Year.  Congratulations Beyonce!

George Clooney is living up to the reputation of one of Hollywood’s hottest hunks by moving swiftly on from his two year relationship with Italian beauty Elisabetta Canalis; although George Clooney is famous for keeping quiet on aspects of his private life, it appears that he has recently hooked up with Dancing With the Stars beauty Stacy Keibler, 31.  Sorry ladies, George appears to off the market again!

Actress Jennifer Aniston, 42, lost one of her greatest companions in life last month; however, she has chosen to honor his memory by getting her first tattoo. Norman, Jennifer Aniston’s Welsh corgi-terrier mix died a couple of months ago at the grand old age of 15; but Norman lives on – as she has had his name inked on the inside of her right foot.

Another Hollywood celebrity couple bite the dust; after two years together, actor George Clooney, 50, has split from his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, 32.  The split came after Elisabetta recently told Italian magazine Chi (June 2011) that:

“I am very happy at the moment – thanks to my man and my fairytale is continuing.”

However, the couple had different views on marriage; George Clooney has vowed that he will never marry again but Elisabetta Canalis reported in Chi that:

“I am a firm believer in marriage.  In the future I will be married.”

George Clooney was married to American actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993; Talia Balsam has since re-married to American actor and director John Slattery.  George Clooney went on to have several girlfriends, the latest of which was Elisabetta Canalis.

Although Elisabetta expressed that she was happy as she was for now, one has to wonder that she was beginning to think about what the future held for her with a man that wouldn’t commit to marriage again.  Some perhaps believed that Elisabetta was one the one to persuade George to marry again – but apparently this was not to be.  Ladies, George maybe be back on the market – but don’t go expecting a wedding ring from this self-confirmed bachelor!

Shortly after their royal wedding, Prince William and his wife Kate announced plans to spend a few days in California, after their first royal tour of Canada which starts later this month.  Royalty is treated very much like Hollywood celebrities these days, if the royal wedding was anything to go by, so its probably no surprise that many celebrities have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to attend the same events that William and Kate will be attending on their sojourn to California.  So where exactly will that be?

William and Kate’s California Plans: July 2011

William and Kate will have little time to hit the famous Californian beaches when they touch down in Los Angeles on July 8, 2011; according to People magazine, William and Kate’s schedule for California includes:

• Consular-General Reception on behalf of the United Kingdom Trade and Investment
• charity polo match to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry at the Santa Barbara Polo Club; tickets are reputed to have cost up to approximately $97,000 each
• benefit dinner for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in downtown Los Angeles
• a reception at the Belasco Theater
• a visit to the Inner-City Arts School
• a visit to the Service Nation: Mission Serve job fair for veterans in Culver City.

California is home to many of the world’s celebrities – but between July 8 and July 10, 2o11 many of those celebrities themselves will be hoping to catch a glimpse of the UK’s most popular celebrity package at the moment,  the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
